Big update for PAN card holders’. The PAN card, which has been in use since 1972, is now on the path of change. The government has approved the new version of PAN 2.0, and with this, about 78 crore people in the country will now have to change their Permanent Account Number (PAN) card. The main objective of this change is to make things easier for taxpayers. After the government’s approval, the question is arising in the minds of taxpayers whether their PAN number will also change and what will be the process of making a new card.

New PAN card

As Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, the new version of the PAN card will only be equipped with the new feature, while your PAN number will remain the same. A QR code will be given on this card, which will contain all your information. Using this, it will be easier to pay tax, register the company, or open an account in the bank.

New Features

The technology of the PAN card will be completely upgraded so that it becomes easier to use.

Special features will be added to make it easier to identify and register all types of businesses.

An integrated platform will be created for all services related to PAN, which will improve the user experience.

Security features will also be installed in the new PAN card to keep the user’s data safe so that incidents like fraud can be controlled.

Where to get a new card?

The Union Minister says that the common man does not need to do anything for the upgrade version of the PAN card. Neither you will need to apply for it anywhere nor will any kind of fee be charged. All the 78 crore people of the country who have been issued PAN cards will be sent a new PAN card by the department.

Will the old card be closed?

The government has clearly said that the number will not be changed in the process of upgrading the PAN card. Everyone’s PAN number will remain the same and until the new card reaches your hand, then you continue to do all your work through the old PAN card. There is no need to apply for a new card nor do you need to spend any money for it. The government will send a new PAN card directly to your address.
