One Nation One Subscription: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the Union Cabinet and gave approval to the scheme called ‘One Nation One Subscription’. This scheme will benefit the government’s higher education institute in the country and the research and development lab of the central government.

A sum of around Rs. 6,000 crore has been allocated

As per the details in media reports, a sum of around Rs. 6,000 crore has been allocated for the One Nation One Subscription program for the years 2025, 2026, and 2027 as a fresh central sector initiative. The ‘One Nation One Subscription’ scheme has been initiated by the central government. Up to 1.8 crore students and research scholars will be able to take advantage of the program. Within this program, research and articles from various international journals will be consolidated and accessible in one place.

This will provide direct advantages to students and researchers. The One Nation One Subscription scheme will be connected to all of the country’s higher educational institutions and research institutes, as stated by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. In addition, around 30 global magazine publishers will be included in it as well. Over 13,000 digital magazines from all publishers will be accessible to over 6,300 government universities and central research and development organizations. Students have the option to join INFLIBNET, which is an Inter-University Center under the UGC, for membership. It is scheduled to be put into effect starting on January 1, 2025. The goal of introducing this plan is to enhance the standard of education in the nation.
