The Indian government is implementing numerous schemes for the benefit of its citizens. Similarly, the Shivraj government of Madhya Pradesh has introduced the Pashudhan Bima Yojana to provide relief to cattle farmers in the state in case of livestock loss. As per official information, the Pashudhan Bima Yojana is applicable in all districts of Madhya Pradesh. Under this scheme, livestock of all categories, including dairy animals, can be insured.
Insurance Coverage Details
According to the information provided, a beneficiary can insure a maximum of five animals. For species such as sheep, goats, cows, buffaloes, etc., 10 animals will be considered as one animal unit. This means that animal keepers can insure up to 50 animals at a time.
Subsidy for Different Categories
For the APL (Above Poverty Line) category, a 50 per cent subsidy on the insurance premium will be provided. Meanwhile, BPL (Below Poverty Line), Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribe animal keepers will receive a subsidy of up to 70 per cent. The remaining amount of the premium will be paid by the beneficiary.
