Former Chief Minister of the state and National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal has made a big announcement before the Delhi Assembly elections. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a pension of Rs 2,500 per month for the elderly of Delhi. Now a total of 5 lakh 30 thousand elderly people will get pension.
Senior citizens gets upto Rs 2500 per month
In the press conference, Kejriwal said that wherever he used to go during the padyatra, he used to demand the start of the old man’s pension. Now the elderly aged 60 to 69 years will get 2000 and those above 70 will get 2500 as pension every month. 80,000 old age pensions are being opened in Delhi.
Former CM says, ‘When our government was formed in 2015, 3.32 lakh elderly people used to get pension, we have increased it to about 4.50 lakh. Another 80,000 pensions are being increased. This scheme has not only been passed by the cabinet, but has also been implemented. The pension portal became operational on Sunday and over 10,000 applications have been received.’
