PM Kusum Yojana: The Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana has been implemented by the Central Government to assist farmers in increasing their earnings. Farmers have the ability to easily irrigate their fields by installing solar pumps through this initiative. Farmers have the opportunity to benefit from a subsidy of up to 90% for the installation of solar pumps, giving them a significant edge.
This way farmers can be benefited
Farmers can take advantage of the subsidy by participating in the Prime Minister’s Kusum Yojana. They will also have the chance to make use of unproductive land. All farmers across the nation can take advantage of this program. Farmers have been given solar panels to irrigate crops under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana. Under this program, the government plans to cover 90 percent of the overall expense for the installation of solar pumps. Farmers will pay for the remaining 10 percent of the expense.
The solar panel will generate electricity for irrigation and any extra power will be sold to the DISCOM. As a result, farmers can earn money from solar-powered pumps. The solar panel is built to last 25 years and needs very little upkeep. The Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana offers a subsidy of up to 90% on solar pumps, with the central and state governments sharing the cost. Both the central and state administrations will give a subsidy of 30 percent each, with banks offering loans up to 30 percent. Farmers, cooperative societies, panchayats, farmers’ groups, farmer producer organizations, water users associations, and other entities can take advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana.
To be eligible for the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, one must be a permanent resident of India and hold Indian citizenship. In this scheme, people can apply for permission to install solar power plants ranging from 0.5 MW to 2 MW in size. Candidate’s land size determines their ability to request a maximum of 2 MW capacity.
