E-Shram: The government is running many schemes for the poor section of the country. One of them is the E-Shram Card. The Ministry of Labour and Employment launched the e-Shram portal, a national database for unorganized sector workers, in 2021. Any person working in the unorganized sector can apply for an e-shram card or labor card. Under the Shram Card Scheme, economically weaker people and workers are given health insurance of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1,000 every month. 

E-Shram Service

E-Shram services can be availed of by visiting the e-Shram portal, creating an account, applying for benefits, and updating information. To register for the e-Shram card, one must be between 16 and 59 years of age.

With the help of this portal, a database of unorganized workers working in the States/Union Territories is to be prepared. Under this, any domestic worker or unorganized sector worker can register themselves. The eShram portal facilitates registration under 30 broad business sectors and around 400 businesses.

e-Shram Card Benefits

 

Anyone working in the unorganized sector can apply for a labor card or e-shram card. Under this, workers in the unorganized sector can get benefits like pensions, death insurance, and financial assistance in the event of disability after 60 years. Under this, the beneficiaries will receive a 12-digit UAN number valid throughout India.

E-SHRAM Card Free Registration

E-Shram Card is a welfare scheme launched by the Government of India for the workers of the unorganized sector. This card is for unorganized sector workers, such as construction workers, domestic workers, rickshaw pullers, street vendors, etc. Explain that workers holding e-shram cards get direct benefits of insurance, pensions, and other government schemes. Registration is free and can be done through the Ministry of Labour and Employment website or through CSC centers.

E-Shram Card: Apply Online

To register on the eShram portal, registration can be done through self-registration as well as through auxiliary mode.

How to apply

 

1. Visit the e-Shram portal (self-registration page).

2. Enter the mobile number and captcha code linked to Aadhaar and click on the ‘Send OTP’ button.

3. After this, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on the Verify button.

4. Enter all the required details, such as address and educational qualification, then select the name of the skill, nature of occupation, and type of work.

5. Now submit your bank details. After this, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number, which is entered.

6. Now the details of the e-shram card will be displayed on your screen. Now you can download your e-shram card.
