What to do if there is a delay in getting a refund?
If there is a delay in getting the refund of ITR, then first you should check the status on the income tax e-filing portal. This will give you an insight into the current stage of processing and any issues that you need to pay attention to. If the delay is too much and unclear, you can lodge a complaint through the ‘e-Nivaran’ section on the e-filing portal or contact the CPC helpline for updates. If any refund fails due to incorrect matching of the bank account, first update the bank details in the income tax portal and then request for re-issuance of the tax refund.
Request again for issuance of refund
For this, you need to log in to the ITR e-filing portal and go to the ‘Services’ tab and click on the ‘Refund Refund’ button. After this, a new webpage will open; click on the ‘Create Refund Reissue Request’ option. After this, you select the ITR for which you want to reissue the refund. Next, select the bank account in which you want to receive the refund. If your bank account is not verified, then first you have to verify it, and then go ahead and choose Aadhaar OTP, EVC, or DSC to verify.
