Mahindra has now started expanding its reach rapidly in the electric four-wheeler segment of the country. While the company earlier had only the XUV400 electric SUV in this segment, now the names of BE 6e and XEV 9e have also been included in this list.

These electric SUVs are making headlines due to their strong features and range. Not only this, in their price segment, they are also giving tough competition to many luxury and expensive electric SUVs. In such a situation, now the company has prepared to bring the electric model of its flagship SUV XUV700. It has been named XEV 7e.

Mahindra has trademarked the name XEV 7e in India. Photos of this electric SUV have also been leaked. These leaked photos show that the XEV 7e will be the non-coupe version of the recently launched XEV 9e, which will have almost all its features and equipment.

The big difference in this SUV is that the XEV 7e has third-row seating, which is not there in the XEV 9e. The company has selected XEV and BE as new sub-brands for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs. Now, the XEV sub-brand will get a new offering called XEV 7e.

The company has applied for a trademark for the name XEV 9e as well as XEV 7e. Both trademark applications were filed on the same day and the status for both reads ‘Formalities Check Pass’. While it was expected that Mahindra would launch the XEV 7e along with the XEV 9e and BE 6e, it did not happen.

In the leaked photo, it can be seen that the XEV 7e has been finalized and is ready for production. It was tested along with the XEV 9e and BE 6e. The launch of Mahindra XEV 7e may have been saved for the new year.

Expected Features of Mahindra XEV 7e

The XEV 7e is the electric version of the XUV700 ICE mid-size SUV on sale in India. Talking about the design, it gets the front fascia and dashboard layout from the XEV 9e, while the side profile and rear section are taken from the XUV700. The XEV 7e has new wheel designs and is the only Mahindra Electric Origin SUV with a panoramic sunroof.

The XEV 7e looks similar to the XEV 9e from the inside apart from the third-row seating. The XEV 7e gets captain seats in the second row. We get the same triple screen layout, new steering wheel with illuminated logo, 1400W 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, VisionX HUD, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, and Level-2+ ADAS suite among other features.

Talking about the powertrain, the leaked photo of the XEV 7e shows a dual-motor layout and traction modes like ‘Snow’ for off-roading. It is worth noting that the XEV 9e and BE 6e do not have dual motors. Its combined performance output can be 350 bhp of power and more than 450 Nm of torque. Its acceleration figures will also be better.
