Bima Sakhi Yojana: The Modi administration is set to introduce the Bima Sakhi Yojana aimed at enhancing economic independence and self-employment opportunities for women. On December 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate this scheme from Panipat. The aim is to empower women in rural regions to become self-sufficient through self-employment opportunities.
Women will have the chance to serve as insurance agents
Under this program, women will have the chance to serve as insurance agents (Bima Sakhi) and will receive support of up to Rs 7,000 each month. The objective of Bima Sakhi Yojana is to offer job opportunities and financial aid to women living in rural regions. Through this initiative, women will serve as insurance agents and offer insurance services directly at people’s doorsteps.
During the initial year, Rs 7,000 will be provided
During the initial year, Rs 7,000 will be provided as support each month. In the second year, this sum will decrease to Rs 6,000. During the third year, a monthly payment of Rs 5,000 will be provided. Women will receive an extra incentive of Rs 2,100. Additionally, commission rewards will be granted upon achieving the insurance objective. During the first stage of the program, 35,000 women will be recruited as insurance agents. In the future, this program will encompass an additional 50,000 women. This program will be launched in Haryana first and will slowly be rolled out nationwide.
To enroll in the Bima Sakhi Yojana, a woman must be aged between 18 and 50 years. It is essential to have completed at least 10th grade. Priority will be given to women from rural regions. The Modi administration has already rolled out numerous programs for women and other groups. Examples include: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ladli Behan Yojana. The Bima Sakhi Yojana will serve as a great means of employment and self-sufficiency for women in rural areas.
