It is common to hear about individuals facing repeated rejections of their EPFO claims. If you have submitted a PF claim and are feeling anxious about the possibility of rejection, there is no need to worry. Last year, the EPFO introduced guidelines aimed at addressing this issue, helping customers navigate the process more effectively. Often, after a claim is denied, individuals are unsure of how to reapply. In this article, we will discuss the appropriate steps to take when seeking to reclaim your PF after a rejection.

What causes online EPF claims to be rejected?

Several factors can lead to the rejection of your EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund) claim when submitted online. Common issues include inaccuracies or omissions in the information provided on the claim form, such as bank account details, member information, or employment history. Additionally, a deactivated UAN outside the EPF system or a UAN that does not correspond with the PF system can also result in rejection. Even entering an incorrect UAN number can lead to complications. Furthermore, it is essential to ensure that the amount you wish to withdraw is available in your PF account; otherwise, your claim may be denied.

You can reclaim after so many days

First, you need to find out the reason for your PF claim being rejected. This information can be found in the event of a PF claim. It is important to know the reason so that you can rectify it. Let us know that you can apply for the claim again within one to two days of the form being rejected.

Once the cause is identified, you need to follow the guideline to fix the problem. For example, if your request is rejected because there is no name on the cheque, you can ask the bank for a new chequebook or submit the bank passbook instead.

How to reclaim?

1. Users can log in to the UAN member portal using their ID and password.

2- Click on the claim form applicable for the claim, for example, Form 19, 10C, or 31 from the Online Services section.

3- Enter your bank account details. Re-enter the bank account number to confirm.

4- Select the form according to the type of claim you want to apply for.

Step 5: Fill in your details, address and upload the required documents.

6. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and submit your PF claim application.

7. Once the application is submitted, keep track of your status on the EPFO portal to monitor the progress of your application.
