Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially launched the LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana (MCA Scheme), aimed at providing employment opportunities for women across the nation. The objective of this scheme is to financially empower women of rural and urban areas through the insurance sector and provide them with new employment opportunities. For this, the government has initially allocated a budget of ₹ 100 crore.
Eligibility Criteria for Application
1. Individuals who are relatives of current agents or employees are not eligible for recruitment as MCAs. Relatives include the following family members:
2. Spouse, children (including adopted and stepchildren, regardless of dependency), parents, siblings, and immediate in-laws.
3. Retired employees of the Corporation or former agents seeking reappointment will not be eligible for agency under the MCA scheme.
4. Current agents are also ineligible to apply for the MCA recruitment.
Eligibility for Participation
The Bima Sakhi Yojana, initiated by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), aims to empower women aged 18 to 70 who have completed at least Class X. Participants will receive specialized training along with a stipend for the first three years to enhance financial literacy and insurance awareness. Upon completion of the training, they can work as LIC agents, and successful graduates may be considered for Development Officer positions within LIC.

Government Stipend Details
1. First Year: Rs 7,000
2. Second Year: Rs 6,000 (conditional upon at least 65% of policies completed in the first year being active at the end of the corresponding month in the second year)
3. Third Year: Rs 5,000 (conditional upon at least 65% of policies completed in the second year being active at the end of the corresponding month in the third year).
