Hat-tricks are rarely seen in cricket, but a double hat-trick in a single match is a major achievement. However, Argentina’s Hernan Fennel accomplished this remarkable feat in the ICC’s sub-regional American T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. With this achievement, the name of the 36-year-old pacer has been immortalized in cricket history. Hernan achieved the double hat-trick against the Cayman Islands and became the sixth bowler in cricket history to take a double hat-trick (4 wickets in 4 balls).
Hernan took four wickets in the first four balls, dismissing Troy Taylor, Alistair Eiffel, Ronald Eubanks, and Alessandro Morris in a single over. He shook the opponent team badly by claiming 5 wickets within just 14 balls.

This achievement also made Fennell the sixth bowler to have taken multiple hat-tricks in T20 International cricket. He previously took a hat-trick in the 2021 ICC World Cup Americas Regional Qualifier tournament. The other bowlers with multiple T20I hat-tricks are Wasim Yaqoobr, Rashid Khan, Lasith Malinga, Jason Holder, Curtis Campher and now Hernan Fennell has joined the list.
