Good news for state govt employees. Before the 2025, the Gujarat government gave a big gift to government employees. The state government has increased the dearness allowance of employees working under the Sixth Pay Commission. The five months’ salary difference of these employees will be paid in the month of January along with the December salary. This announcement of the state government will benefit lakhs of employees and pensioners.
DA Increased
The state government has announced that the Dearness Allowance has been increased for employees and pensioners who are taking pay scales under the Gujarat State Service (Pay Amendment) Rules-2009. The Gujarat government has decided to increase the monthly rate of dearness allowance payable in the case of salaried employees and pensioners according to the Sixth Pay Commission from July 1, 2024.
As per the announcement of the state government, in the case of employees, 246% Dearness Allowance from the month of December-2024 with monthly salary, the total difference of five months Dearness Allowance from the regularly notified July-2024 to November 2024 will have to be paid along with the salary of December (paid in January-2025).
Earlier, the salaries of the employees of the Seventh Pay Commission had increased.
It is worth mentioning that earlier on December 4, the state government had increased the salaries of the employees of the Seventh Pay Commission. In which, all the employees who are beneficiaries of the Seventh Pay Commission, including employees of the State Service and Panchayat Service, teachers and assistants, employees of the Provident Fund account of the state government, a total of 4.45 lakh employees and 4.63 lakh pensioners will get this benefit.
