Nonetheless, the majority of travelers do not know about this restriction and frequently bring more bags than allowed. 

 

Baggage restriction based on coach

 

1. On the train, you are allowed to bring luggage weighing between 40 and 70 kg along. Nonetheless, depending on the type of coach, it is determined how much baggage a traveler can take in each class.

 

2. When traveling in sleeper class, railway regulations allow you to bring up to 40 kg of luggage. Nevertheless, if you carry more baggage than the allowed limit, you could incur a penalty.

 

3. When traveling in the train’s third AC, you may take luggage weighing a maximum of 40 kg with you. In the second AC, this restriction has been set at 50 kg.

 

4. In addition to this, if you travel in the first AC compartment of the train, you are allowed to bring luggage weighing up to 70 kg with you. If you wish to travel by train with more baggage than this, you will need to reserve a luggage van for it.
