We will prepare this dal with a mixture of peas and some spices only, which will be eaten with great gusto by children and adults.

Ingredients required for making matar ki dal:
500 grams of peas
One finely chopped onion
One finely chopped tomato
One teaspoon ginger garlic paste
One teaspoon turmeric
One teaspoon coriander
One teaspoon chili
One teaspoon garam masala
One teaspoon kasuri methi
One teaspoon cumin seeds
Two to three bay leaves
Two to three dried red chilies
Salt according to taste
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Method of making matar ki dal:
First of all, wash the peas thoroughly. If you want, you can make this dal with fresh peas or frozen peas. Use whatever you have.
Put the peas in the cooker and cook for 2 to 3 whistles and take it out in a pan. Now put the pan on low flame and add two to three tablespoons of oil. In this oil, add cumin seeds and bay leaves and as soon as the tempering crackles, add finely chopped onion and finely chopped tomato and fry for 2 to 3 minutes. When it is fried nicely, add all the spices to it.
Cook it for 1 to 2 minutes and till the time the spices are being prepared, mash the boiled peas well with the help of a masher. We do not have to make this matter very fine, we have to keep it a little coarse so that it tastes good in the food. Now when the spices are prepared well, add the mashed peas to it and let it boil on a high flame for 5 to 6 minutes. When the peas boil well, add finely chopped coriander to it and serve it with jeera rice.
