Tata Motors India is ready to give a big surprise to its customers at the Mobility Global Expo 2025. In fact, according to the company’s dealer sources, the company can introduce an updated version of the cheapest and entry-level Tiago hatchback in its portfolio at this event.
Also, the updated model of the Tigor sedan can be entered. However, no official confirmation has been made about the debut at the motoring show yet. It has been said by the company that it is preparing the facelifted Tiago and Tigor for 2025.
If Tiago and Tigor get an update, it will come after a full 5 years. Earlier, the company had updated the cars in January 2020. Then these cars were updated so that their demand remains in their segment.
It is believed that the new update will include cosmetic changes in these cars. Which will include newly designed front and rear sections with updated bumpers, headlamps, and tail lamps. The interiors may include refreshed upholstery and extra features.
These changes will help the Tiago and Tigor maintain competition in their respective segments. The latter, in particular, is facing new competition from the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze, as both sedans have recently received new-gen models.
In the compact hatchback segment, the Maruti Suzuki Swift has also received a major update. The Tiago and Tigor were first launched in the Indian market in 2016. The Tata Tiago’s ex-showroom price starts at Rs 5 lakh.
It is believed that the new update may increase the sales of both these cars. However, there is little chance of mechanical changes in these cars. They may continue with their 1.2-litre petrol engine MT and AMT options, while the twin-cylinder CNG technology will remain.
The company can also present the Harrier EV at this expo, which is set to be launched before the end of this financial year. Tata is also working on the Avinashi EV which will be launched in the next financial year.
