PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that farmers in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) will receive an extra Rs 4,000 through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) program. At present, farmers receive Rs 6,000 each year through this program. With the recent announcement, the overall sum will rise to Rs 10,000. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) has initiated a central scheme aimed at enhancing the earnings of small and marginal farmers (SMFs).

Election manifesto for J&K promises a minimum of Rs 10,000

The BJP’s election manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir promises a minimum of Rs 10,000 to farmers in the region, comprising a guaranteed Rs 6,000 for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir, along with an extra Rs 4,000. Previously, it was approximately Rs 60,000 crore for FY 2025; now it has increased to about Rs 1 lakh crore.

The amount will deposit in three phases

This sum will be disbursed directly in three payments – Rs 3,000, Rs 3,000, and Rs 4,000. It is important to highlight that the Center allocated Rs 60,000 crore for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi in the interim budget, which provided Rs 6,000 for each farmer annually. It remained the same in the Union Budget 2024 unveiled in July.
