If you’re looking to save money from your income, you can contact your nearest post office. Firozabad Deputy Post Superintendent Ajay Dubey informed Local 18 about a scheme running in the post office, where anyone can save lakhs of rupees by depositing small amounts.

What is the RD Scheme?

The postal department is running a scheme called RD (Recurring Deposit), which allows you to deposit money every month. To start, you only need Rs 100. If you deposit Rs 15,000 every month, after five years, you can accumulate Rs 10,70,000 through this scheme.

How Much Interest Will You Get?

The scheme offers an annual interest rate of 6.7%, which is compounded every three months. By depositing Rs 15,000 monthly for 60 months, you will accumulate Rs 10 lakh, along with an interest of Rs 1,70,492.

How to Avail the Benefits?

To avail the benefits of this scheme, you don’t need to visit multiple places. Simply go to any post office near you, open an RD, and deposit small amounts. To open this RD, you only need an Aadhaar card and a PAN card.

How to Apply Online for Post Office RD:

  1. Visit India Post and log in.
  2. Select the “Recurring Deposit” scheme.
  3. Enter details (amount, tenure) and upload Aadhaar/PAN.
  4. Pay via net banking or UPI.
  5. Confirm and save the receipt.
