There will be a three-fold refund on waitlisted tickets.
What is the scheme
The ticket booking platform ixigo has introduced a new feature named ‘Travel Guarantee’. You can find it on the ixigo Trains app. With this feature, travelers receive a reimbursement of three times their ticket price. This provides users with extra flexibility to re-schedule their trip using different transportation options and prevent last-minute price increases.
Dinesh Kumar Kotha, the CEO of ixigo Trains, states that passengers can choose the ‘Travel Guarantee’ option for specific trains and classes booked via their app for a small fee. Upon choosing this service, if the ticket is still waitlisted when the train chart is prepared, passengers will receive a refund of three times the amount paid to the railways.
Will cash receive three times the total?
Dinesh Kumar Kotha states that if the traveler has settled the basic fare for the ticket, the sum will be returned in the initial payment method. This indicates that if they have purchased the ticket from the wallet, then the sum will be credited into the wallet. If the payment is done using a credit card, the funds will be credited back to the same account. If the funds have left the bank account, they will be credited back to the account. The leftover 2X sum will be returned as a Travel Guarantee Coupon. It can be utilized for booking flights, trains, or buses on the ixigo website or app.
