EPFO, meaning Employees Provident Fund Organization, has pushed the deadline for activating Universal Account Number (UAN) and linking Aadhaar to 15 January 2025. Previously, the final date was 15 December 2024. And before that, this deadline was set for 30 November 2024, but it was subsequently postponed to 15 December 2024. Once more, it has been prolonged to 15 January 2025.

EPFO stated in its post, “Dear Employers, the deadline for UAN activation and Aadhaar update in bank accounts has been extended to 15 January.” For every employee who has come on board in the ongoing financial year, to ensure they receive the advantages of the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme.

Relief to employees
The deadline’s extension has provided significant relief to employees who had yet to finish the process. EPFO has urged all employers to promptly activate their employees’ UAN and to connect Aadhaar with their bank accounts.
