Driving License: Initiatives have begun to streamline the regulations for obtaining a driving license in Bihar. You no longer need to go to the DTO office to obtain a license. All tasks will be completed online from home. You can obtain a learning license within minutes from the comfort of your home. To achieve this, the Transport Department is testing a new software. Provided everything goes smoothly, these regulations will take effect starting in 2025. With this regulation, you can request a license using your mobile device.
Apply from home
According to reports, to obtain a learning license, the applicant must apply from home using their mobile device. Once you apply, you will be presented with 10 questions pertaining to the MV Act online. You must correctly answer 6 out of these 10 questions. If you correctly answer all 6 questions, the e-learning license will be created on the mobile device simultaneously. If you cannot respond to the questions on your first try, you can still obtain your license by correctly answering them the second time.
As per the existing regulations, individuals must visit the DTO office to address these queries. Individuals holding a learning license will visit the closest driving school in their area and practice driving on the designated track there. The transport department’s portal will link to the CCTV camera set up on the track. The driver will continue navigating the track while the computer linked to the CCTV will consistently monitor all the regulations.
Once the driver meets all driving criteria, the computer will approve it. Subsequently, the DTO will verify all the information, after which it will be forwarded to the private agency to create the card. Once this is done, the card will be mailed to your address.
Currently, the Transport Department is testing this new software. If all goes according to plan, these new regulations may be put into effect starting in 2025. This will offer comfort to the individuals.
