Weather Update: Dense fog is looming over the national capital. An outbreak of cold is being seen across the country. The cold has increased due to cloud cover across the state, including Shimla in Himachal. Due to the increasing cold, people have reduced their morning walks. People are in bad condition due to the cold.

The IMD has said that humid weather conditions will likely persist this week in the western Himalayan region. Rain is also possible in the plains of northwest India on January 5 and 6. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog may prevail in some parts of central and northwest India for 24 hours.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, North India will experience severe cold and dense fog. The melting may increase further here. In UP too, wind is expected to blow with further fall in temperature.

Most of Bihar will also experience melting cold. The level of cold may increase even more in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, western Rajasthan, and Gujarat. In the coming days, severe colds may occur in UP and Bihar.

Rainfall Prediction

Two western disturbances are present in the cyclonic circulation over Jammu and adjoining areas. From January 3 to January 4, light, sporadic rain is expected in the west Himalayan region.

The intensity will likely increase from January 5 to January 6, and sporadic rains may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Baltistan and Ladakh. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gilgit, Ladakh, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad are likely to receive rain on January 5 and 6.

Dense fog warning

According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog may prevail in Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh on January 3. From January 3 to January 6, thick fog will likely succeed in northeastern states like Tripura, Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Manipur6.

According to the Meteorological Department, a dense fog warning has been issued in Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Many areas, including Himachal Pradesh, have issued an alert about frost. In the next 5 days, a drop in temperature of two to three degrees Cel will occur in North West India.
