Bajaj Auto has decided to remove 3 motorcycles from its portfolio in early 2025. These bikes are the Pulsar F250 (faired version of Pulsar N250), Platina 110 ABS (ABS variant only), and CT 125X. The ex-showroom price of the Pulsar F250 was around ₹ 1.5 lakh, the drum variant of CT 125X was priced at around ₹ 73,000 and the disc variant was priced at ₹ 77,000. At the same time, the price of Platina 110 ABS was around ₹ 79,000. What are the reasons behind this decision of Bajaj and what will be its impact on the market, let’s know in detail.
Which Models Were Discontinued
The three models that Bajaj has discontinued are as follows-
Bajaj Pulsar F250: A faired version of Pulsar N250, which failed to attract the youth.
Bajaj Platina 110 ABS: The only bike with ABS feature in the 110cc segment, but could not attract customers due to its high price.
Bajaj CT 125X: The most powerful commuter bike in the 125cc segment, but it was also discontinued due to low sales.
Which bikes are now in Bajaj’s portfolio
The following Pulsar models are currently listed on the company’s website: Pulsar NS400Z, Pulsar N125, Pulsar N250, Pulsar 220F, Pulsar NS200, Pulsar NS160, Pulsar N160, Pulsar N150, Pulsar 150, Pulsar 125, and Pulsar NS125. The company is preparing to launch the updated Pulsar RS200.
What Are the Reasons Behind Discontinuing the Bikes
Bajaj has not revealed the reasons for discontinuing these three motorcycles. However, it is believed that the sales of these motorcycles were consistently below the company’s expectations. Buyers were showing more interest in buying the old Pulsar 220F, due to which Bajaj had to launch it again in the market. Even while updating the Pulsar F250, Bajaj did not provide better components like USD forks, which were in the Pulsar N250.
The biggest feature of the Bajaj CT 125X was that it was the most powerful 125cc commuter motorcycle sold in India. The CT 125X was placed above the CT 110X in Bajaj’s lineup. After its powerful design, another feature of the CT 125X was its affordability. The CT 125X had the performance of a 125cc bike, while its price was the same as that of a 110cc motorcycle.
Talking about Bajaj Platina, the company also discontinued its 110 ABS variant. It was the only bike in the 110cc segment in India to have an ABS feature. In this segment and price, buyers do not seem willing to pay more for safer braking.
