UAN: When an employee transitions from one job to another, it’s essential to transfer the funds from their previous Provident Fund (PF) account to the new employer’s account. This process ensures that the PF balance remains consolidated, making future withdrawals simpler. If you’ve recently changed jobs, be sure to move your funds from your old Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) account to your new one. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has streamlined this process, allowing it to be completed entirely online, so there’s no need to visit the EPFO office.

To initiate the online transfer of your EPF funds, your Universal Account Number (UAN) must be activated on the UAN portal. Additionally, the mobile number linked to your UAN must be active. It’s also important that your bank account and IFSC code are connected to your UAN, and that your e-KYC has been approved by your employer.

Here’s how to transfer your money online:

1. Visit the Unified Member Portal of EPFO.

2. Log in using your UAN and password.

3. Navigate to the online services section and select “One Member-One EPF Account (Transfer Request).”

4. Verify your existing PF account details along with your personal information.

5. After confirming your PF account details, click on “Last PF Account Details.”

6. Choose either your previous or current employer to verify the form.

7. Click on “Get OTP” to receive a one-time password on your registered mobile number.

8. Enter the OTP and hit submit. This will notify your employer about the EPF transfer request.

Your employer will then approve your EPF transfer request through the employer interface on the unified portal.
