Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 Apply Process: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was started by the government of India to assist eligible rural and urban families in building livable houses. The Government of India has started the second phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U 2.0). This scheme aims to provide housing to 1 crore urban poor and middle-class families, including economically weaker sections (EWS) in urban areas.
This initiative provides a financial subsidy of Rs 2.50 lakh for a new house, with a plan to build 1 lakh houses in the next five years starting from September 1, 2024. So let us tell you everything about this scheme:-
Who is Eligible for the scheme
This scheme includes families from the EWS, Low Income Group (LIG), and Middle Income Group (MIG) segments who do not have a pucca house anywhere in the country. EWS families are defined as those whose annual income is up to Rs 3 lakh, LIG families earn Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh annually, and MIG families earn Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.

To apply for PMAY-U 2.0, you will need several documents. For this, the Aadhaar card of the applicant and family member, an active bank account linked to the Aadhaar, an income certificate, caste/community proof if applicable, and land documents are mandatory for those applying under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) vertical. Fraud can be prevented through these documents.
How to apply for PMAY-U 2.0?
Under PMAY-U 2.0, the online application process has been started for one crore new families. Eligible persons can submit their application online.
First of all, you have to go to the website of this scheme.
Now click on Apply for PMAY-U 2.0
Afterwards, go to Proceed, fill in the details, and submit.
If you are not eligible for this, you will be stopped here.
If you are eligible, you must enter your Aadhaar number and name.
Now go to Generate OTP.
You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number; you can follow the further process.
