To benefit from the government’s Employment Linked Incentive Scheme (ELI Scheme), members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) need to activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) and link their Aadhaar to their bank account. There are only 3 days left for EPFO members, particularly new employees, to complete this process. If you’ve recently joined a company, make sure to activate your UAN by January 15. Additionally, linking your Aadhaar to your bank account is essential.
It’s important to note that the EPFO has extended the deadline for activating UAN and linking your bank account with Aadhaar to January 15, 2025. The previous deadline for UAN activation was November 30, 2024, which was later pushed to December 15, 2024.
What is the ELI Scheme?
The government introduced the ELI scheme in the Budget 2024. This initiative consists of three types of schemes: A, B, and C, all aimed at boosting employment generation and providing financial support to new employees.
How to activate your UAN number:
1. Visit the EPFO website at epfindia.gov.in.
2. Click on “For Employees” in the Services section on the left.
3. Select “Member UAN Online Service OCS OTCP,” which is the second option in the Services column.
4. Click on “Activate UAN.”
5. Enter your 12-digit UAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, mobile number linked to Aadhaar, captcha code, and more.
6. Check the declaration box below and click on the “Get Authorization Pin” button.
7. Enter the OTP you receive and click the submit button.
This way, your UAN will be successfully activated.
