A lot of documents are essential for folks living in India. People need these documents daily for various reasons. When we talk about these important papers, we’re looking at things like the PAN card, voter ID, driving license, and passport.

The PAN card is one of the key documents in India. It’s issued by the Income Tax Department, and you can’t really do any banking or file your income tax returns without it.

Recently, India launched the PAN 2.0 project, which has replaced the old PAN 1.0 and TAN 1.0. Now, anyone applying for a PAN card will receive the new PAN 2.0.

Don’t worry, though—existing PAN cards will still work just fine, and the government will gradually switch everyone over to the new PAN 2.0.

A lot of people are applying for the new PAN card. If you’ve applied for PAN 2.0, you can easily check its status online from home. Just head over to the official NSDL website at https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pantan/StatusTrack.

Once there, select ‘PAN- New/Change Request’ as your application type. Then, enter the acknowledgment number you received when you applied for the PAN card. After that, fill in the captcha code and hit submit.

Your PAN card status will pop up on your screen, showing you where things stand. Typically, it takes about 15 to 20 days for the PAN card to arrive.
