Suzuki V-Strom: Suzuki has introduced a new motorcycle to its lineup in Colombia, named the V-Strom 160. This model enhances the adventure aspect of the existing V-Strom series. Production will take place in Brazil, and its design closely resembles the current DL160, developed in collaboration with Suzuki’s Chinese partner, Haojue.

Some basic informations about the bike

While it features block-pattern, dual-purpose tires, the majority of the V-Strom 160’s components are geared towards on-road performance. It is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels at both the front and rear, along with telescopic forks and a monoshock rear suspension. However, the suspension travel is limited, and the 160mm ground clearance is not ideal for off-road conditions.

The motorcycle is designed with a tall handlebar and a comfortable seat, making it more suitable for long-distance rides rather than daily urban commuting.

Engine and power

The V-Strom 160 is powered by a 160cc, air-cooled, SOHC engine that delivers 14.75bhp and 14Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed transmission. This engine differs from the one used in the Gixxer available in India, as the crankcase and cylinder head designs are notably distinct.

Some more features you should know

Additional features include a seat height of 795mm, a 13-litre fuel tank, and a round digital display. The bike has a kerb weight of 148 kg. Meanwhile, sales of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF have been declining recently, while the Jupiter scooter remains the company’s top-selling model in the Indian market.
