8th Pay Commission: In the new year, the central government gave a significant gift to government employees. The Union Cabinet has approved that the central government’s 8th Pay Commissioners and pensioners eagerly awaited this gift, which the government gave them after a long wait.

A committee will soon be formed for this, and the process of creating the 8th Pay Commission will start. Today, the Union Cabinet meeting was held at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence, and this decision was approved under PM Modi’s chairmanship.

The central employees met the Cabinet Secretary. They demanded the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, and these organizations continuously pressured the government to form the 8th Pay Commission.

7th Pay Commission implemented in the year 2016
The 7th Pay Commission was implemented in the country on January 1, 2016. About one crore people benefited from this. Since the Pay Commission is implemented every 10 years. In such a situation, the Narendra Modi government at the Center is now expected to implement the 8th Pay Commission from January 1, 2026. This is expected to change the minimum wage and pension significantly.

A new commission is formed every 10 years.

It has been over 10 years since the last Pay Commission was formed. Usually, the next Pay Commission is formed every 10 years. There is a gap of about 10 years between the implementation of the recommendations of the new Pay Commission in place of the old Pay Commission.

The Seventh Pay Commission was constituted in 2024, during the tenure of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. About one and a half years later, in November 2015, it submitted its recommendations to the central government. The recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission came into effect on January 1, 2016, and are still in force.
