Varun’s performance was also excellent in the new ICC rankings released last week. He gained more than 100 places.
Varun Chakraborty planted the flag
Varun Chakravarthy is second in the list of highest wicket takers in Champions Trophy 2025. Varun and Mohammed Shami took 9-9 wickets for India. But Varun conceded runs at a lower economy rate than Shami. The spinner also took five wickets in the last league stage match against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025. Apart from this, he bowled well in the semi-final against Australia and the final against New Zealand, due to which he benefited in the ICC ODI bowling rankings.
