Nepal

Nepal is a neighbouring country of India and is also deeply connected with Hindu culture. Here Holi is known as Fagu Purnima and it is celebrated with great pomp and show across the country. In big cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara, the streets are filled with colours, music and dance on the day of Holi. Here too people paint each other with colours, water balloons and gulal.

Mauritius

Mauritius has a large Indian community, who celebrate Holi there with great enthusiasm. The celebration of Holi here is similar to the Holi of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in India. The tradition of bhajan-kirtan, Holika Dahan and playing colours is also seen here. The Mauritius government also recognises this festival and it is celebrated as a national holiday.

Fiji

Hindu Holi celebrations are also seen in Bangladesh. Especially in areas like Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. Here Holi is also known as Dol Purnima or Basant Utsav. Like India, people of the Hindu community here play with colors and gulal. Special puja and havan are organized in temples.
