Starting April 1, 2025, several major banks in the country may alter the reward points associated with their credit cards, which could impact cardholders. Reports suggest that SBI Bank, IDFC First Bank, and Axis Bank are among those likely to make changes that users will notice.
What changes can you expect with credit cards?
SBI Credit Card – The State Bank of India, a prominent government bank, is set to revise its reward points starting April 1, 2025. Previously, SBI cardholders earned 10X reward points for purchases made on Swiggy, but this may drop to 5X. Additionally, the Air India Platinum Credit Card, which currently offers 15 reward points for every Rs. 100 spent, is expected to decrease to just 5 points. Similarly, the Signature Credit Card, which gives 30 points, might be reduced to 10.
IDFC First Bank – This bank currently provides the Club Vistara Credit Card, allowing customers to earn Maharaja Points. However, reports indicate that this card could be discontinued after March 31, 2025.
Axis Bank – As per recent media reports, Axis Bank is currently providing the Vistara credit card, but this could change soon. Starting April 18, 2025, there are indications that there will be no annual fee for card renewal. However, the Maharaja Club membership for cardholders is expected to be discontinued.
