New Delhi: The MG Windsor EV is currently leading the electric vehicle (EV) segment in India, surpassing popular models like the Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV. To further strengthen its position, MG is set to introduce a long-range variant of the Windsor EV in April 2025. The new version will feature a larger battery pack, promising an extended driving range and improved performance.
2025 MG Windsor EV – Battery, Range & Performance
The upcoming long-range Windsor EV is expected to be equipped with a 50kWh lithium-ion battery, sourced from the globally available MG ZS EV. It is likely to be offered exclusively in the top-end trim. This battery pack will deliver an ARAI MIDC-certified range of approximately 460km on a full charge.
Charging the battery from 0 to 80% will take just 46 minutes with a 50kW DC fast charger, while a standard AC charger will take around 16 hours. In comparison, the current Windsor EV comes with a 38kWh LFP battery that offers a claimed range of 331km.
With the new 50kWh battery, the MG Windsor EV is expected to deliver improved acceleration. The global-spec MG ZS EV with this battery does 0-100kmph in 8.6 seconds and achieves a top speed of 175kmph, though the Windsor EV’s figures may vary slightly.
Interior & Features
No major changes are expected inside the cabin of the 2025 MG Windsor EV. The current model is already well-equipped with premium features, including:
15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system
8.8-inch digital instrument cluster
Infinity 9-speaker audio system
Glass roof & ambient lighting
Ventilated front seats
360-degree camera
PM2.5 air filter

The Windsor EV also offers four driving modes: Eco, Eco+, Normal, and Sport, ensuring an optimized driving experience for different road conditions.
2025 MG Windsor EV – Expected Price in India
The long-range MG Windsor EV is expected to be ₹1 lakh – ₹1.50 lakh costlier than the current model. At present, the Windsor EV is priced between ₹13.50 lakh – ₹15.50 lakh (ex-showroom). With the extended range variant, the new pricing could go up to ₹16 lakh for the top-end model.
With its extended 460km range, faster charging, and feature-loaded cabin, the 2025 MG Windsor EV is set to further strengthen MG’s dominance in India’s EV market. The upcoming launch in April 2025 will offer buyers a more practical and efficient electric MPV. Stay tuned for official pricing and booking details.
