The Kia Carnival MPV is set to make a comeback in the Indian market this festive season with their next project. The Korean company has announced that it will introduce two new models on October 3. The upcoming Kia Carnival was showcased under the name KA4 during the Auto Expo held in January last year.
The 2024 Kia Carnival is expected to be sold as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit in the Indian market. It has already been launched in global markets and has been introduced with several updates. This includes new styling, new interior and a new hybrid powertrain option.
Specifications
The cabin of the new Carnival will have two types of seating configurations. This includes 7-seater and 9-seater versions. Interior of the car would also be upgraded with several new features. These will include a dual-screen set up, which will have a new 12.3-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.
Apart from these features, the new Carnival will have features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charger, automatic climate control, 360 degree camera, head-up display, ads and rear infotainment screen.
Engine
The Kia Carnival MPV can be offered with 3 engine options. In global markets, this MPV is offered with 3.5-liter petrol, 1.6-liter petrol-hybrid and 2.2-liter diesel engine options. The petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox is capable of generating 287 bhp of power and 352 Nm of peak torque.
The hybrid variant gets a 54 kWh battery. It can give 242 bhp of power and 367 Nm of peak torque. Apart from this, the 2.2-liter diesel engine is also likely to continue to be used.
Price
The Carnival MPV was priced between Rs 29.65 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 40.60 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. The updated model is expected to have a starting price of around Rs 40 lakh.
