Maruti Swift CNG 2024: The demand for CNG cars is increasing continuously in India. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors are manufacturing CNG cars. The running cost of CNG cars is less today as compared to petrol cars.
Some time ago Maruti Suzuki launched its new Swift petrol in India and as soon as it was launched, this car made its place in the top 10 best selling cars.
The petrol model of Swift offers mileage of up to 25.75 km but now keeping in mind the needs of the customers, the company is bringing the CNG model of Swift whose mileage is likely to be more than 30 km.
Mileage will be more than 30 km
The new Swift CNG will get the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine of the Z series. But there may be a slight decrease in power and torque in the CNG variant as compared to the petrol engine. Currently, this engine in the petrol version gives a power of 82hp and torque of 112Nm.
With this engine, the option of 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic gearbox will be available. The current new Swift (petrol) offers a mileage of 24.80 kmpl in one liter, while in automatic transmission this car gives a mileage of 25.75 kmpl. But according to the source, the CNG version of Swift can give a mileage of more than 30km/kg.
Possible price
The price of the new Swift CNG can be around Rs 90,000 more expensive than the petrol model. According to the source, the price of Swift CNG variant can start from Rs 7.44 lakh (ex-showroom). At present, the ex-showroom price of petrol Swift ranges from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.64 lakh. Only manual transmission is likely to be available in the CNG variant of Swift.
6 airbags
There will be no changes in the design and interior of the new Swift CNG. Just an S-CNG logo will be put on the car. For safety, you will get to see many good features in the car including 6 airbags, anti-lock braking system with EBD, 3 point seat belts. Swift CNG will compete directly with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG and Tata Tiago CNG.
