A report indicates that the Maruti Fronx Hybrid was seen in testing in Gurugram, Haryana. The vehicle features the ‘Fronx’ badge positioned on the left side, while the ‘Hybrid’ badge is located on the right side at the rear. The hybrid system being developed by Maruti Suzuki is anticipated to work in conjunction with the new Z12E engine, which has already been introduced in the latest Swift model.

The forthcoming strong hybrid system from Maruti may differ from the existing configurations found in the Grand Vitara and Invicto. This new system is expected to function as a range extender, utilizing the petrol engine primarily to recharge the battery pack, with power to the wheels being supplied by the electric motor. This advanced hybrid technology may also be featured in upcoming models, including the next-generation Baleno.

It is projected that the Maruti Fronx Hybrid will achieve a fuel efficiency exceeding 30 kilometers per liter. Currently, the model is equipped with a 1.2-liter K-series engine that produces 89.73 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. This engine offers a mileage of 21.79 km/liter with a manual transmission and up to 22.89 km/liter with an automated manual transmission (AMT).
