Ampere has launched a new Neo variant of its popular Magnus electric scooter in the Indian market. The Magnus Neo will replace the existing EX variant in Ampere’s line-up. The Neo looks similar to other variants but has a dual-tone paint scheme. It is powered by a 2.3kWh LFP battery and is priced at ₹79,999 ex-showroom.
This scooter is a good option for those who want an affordable and everyday-use electric scooter. In the market, it will compete with the entry-level models of big companies. Let’s know about this new scooter in detail.
Range up to 80 km on a single charge
Ampere claims that it will give a real range of 70 to 80 kilometers on a single full charge. In the Indian market, it will compete with models like Ola S1X and Bajaj Chetak EV. LFP battery has been used in Neo.
Hence its claimed range is slightly less than the Magnus EX, which has a claimed range of 80 to 100 kilometres. The Magnus Neo also has the top speed of 65kph, which is the top most highest on any e bike Magnus variant so far now.
Full charge in 5 to 6 hours
Another difference between the older EX and Neo variants is that the Magnus Neo has 12-inch wheels on both sides, while the other variants get 10-inch wheels. The Magnus Neo has the same features as the other variants and is a simple electric scooter with a small digital dash.
Ampere offers the Magnus Neo with a 5-year or 75,000-km battery warranty. The scooter takes 5 to 6 hours to fully charge, making it convenient for everyday use.
Competition with Ola’s entry model
With a new ex-showroom price of ₹ 79,999, the Magnus Neo has emerged as the most affordable model among electric scooters. It comes in black, blue, red, white and grey colors. In the Indian market, it will compete with Ola’s cheapest S1X electric scooter as well as entry variants of models like Bajaj Chetak and Ather Energy.
