Suzuki GSX-8R: In India the company launched its new GSX-8R for the market last year. It is the third motorcycle based on the 800 cc platform after the GSX-8S and the V-Strom 800.
However, Suzuki is already selling the V-Strom 800DE in the Indian market, but we do not have the GSX-8S currently. Suzuki GSX-8R Looks and Design:
The Suzuki GSX-8R comes with an attractive styling profile with vertically-stacked headlamps that divide the front cowl into two parts, integrated within a large fairing. The engine is prominently displayed and the fairing also serves to incorporate the rearview mirrors.
While the bike unit differentiates itself with twin LED daytime running lights (DRLs). However, the overall design of the bike remains largely unchanged. But the rear now sees a new two-piece tail light.
Suzuki GSX-8R Features and Specifications:
The bike is powered by a powerful 769 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, twin-cylinder engine which is tuned to produce 84 bhp at 8,400 rpm and 76 nm of peak torque at 6,900 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox and has a bi-directional quickshifter. It also features a 270-degree crank with a balancer shaft.
The suspension setup comprises upside-down (USD) forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Both are sourced from Showa. For braking, the motorcycle uses dual 310 mm discs with four-piston calipers at the front and a 240 mm single disc at the rear.
Additional features include dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control, various riding modes, an easy start system and low RPM assist are also seen in this bike.
Suzuki GSX-8R Price and Competitors:
Well, The company has launched this bike at a starting price of Rs 9.32 lakh ex-showroom. However, Prices may vary based on different geographical locations.
This bike competes in the market with the bikes like Kawasaki Ninja 650, Honda CBR650R and others of this segment. Compared to its rivals, the GSX-8R gets the biggest displacement. That’s why I prefer this bike over others in this price bracket.
