Automobile companies have started announcing price increases for their vehicles one after another as the new year begins. Joining this trend, German automobile manufacturer BMW’s two-wheeler unit, BMW Motorrad, announced on Friday that it will increase the prices of its entire model range by up to 2.5 per cent, effective from January 1, 2025. According to PTI news, the company stated that this price change is due to an increase in overall input costs and inflationary pressures.

Why the price will be Increased?

According to the news, the company stated that this decision will help ensure high standards of excellence and profitability for BMW Motorrad in terms of quality, performance, and brand experience. BMW Motorrad officially began its operations as the Indian subsidiary of the BMW Group in April 2017. The brand sells a range of premium motorcycles and scooters in the country, including the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS, along with other two-wheelers.

BMW India has already announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent across its entire car range from January next year. Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz India also announced a 3 per cent increase in the prices of its vehicles in India, effective next month. At the end of the year, most companies announce price hikes for the new year. In addition to these brands, many other automobile companies are expected to announce price hikes in the coming days.
