BSA Gold Star vs royal Enfield interceptor 650: Classic Legends has launched the Gold Star 650. This motorcycle is already available for sale in the global market and finally it has arrived in our country as well. In the Indian market, it will compete directly with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Let’s know about these two motorcycles.

Design

Both motorcycles come with retro design language. The Gold Star has a more classic design language, while the Interceptor 650 is designed as a roster. However, the Interceptor contain LED headlamps and alloy wheels etc.

Engine and performance.

The Gold Star 650 is powered by a 652 cc engine with a liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve configuration. This powertrain generates a output of 45 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 55 Nm at 4,000 rpm. However, it has a 5-speed transmission instead of a 6-speed gearbox.

At the same time, the Interceptor 650 gets a 648 cc parallel-twin, four-stroke, single overhead cam, air/oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This powertrain gets a maximum output of 47 bhp at 7,150 rpm and a peak torque of 52 Nm at 5,250 rpm.

Price

BSA Gold Star starting price is from Rs 2.99 lakh and end up to Rs 3.35 lakh. At the same time, the price of Interceptor 650 ranges from Rs 3.03 lakh to Rs 3.31 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Specifications

The BSA Gold Star is built with a tubular steel frame. It features a dual-cradle design, which is complemented by a 41 mm telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers for its suspension system.

For braking, it is equipped with a single 320 mm disc at the front and a 255 mm disc at the rear. The bike has 12 litres fuel tank capacity and it weighs 213 kg.

The Interceptor 650 also uses a tubular steel frame. Its suspension system includes a 41 mm front fork with 110 mm travel and twin coil-over shocks that offer 88 mm travel. The Interceptor has a ground clearance of 174 mm, has a fuel capacity of 13.7 litres and has a kerb weight of 202 kg.
