New BYD Seal: BYD has introduced a new version of its popular electric sedan BYD Seal. The starting price of this car is 175,800 yuan (about Rs 20 lakh). Considering the features available at this price, this car is quite cheap. Both rear wheel drive and all wheel drive variants of this car will be available. Let’s know its details in detail.
New BYD Seal Design
Talking about design, then the BYD Seal is 4,800mm long, 1,875mm wide and 1,460mm high. Its wheelbase is 2,920mm. The e-Platform 3.0 Evo includes 5 major tech clusters. It uses a 12-in-1 electric drive system, which is a world first. Other highlights include an intelligent fast charging system, a high performance thermal management module, advanced CTB vehicle safety architecture and the world’s first intelligent motion control technology.
New BYD Seal Features
Talking about features, then It gets an upgraded chassis with optimal suspension performance. It improves comfort, stability, handling and suspension setup. The top-spec AWD variant also gets this advanced damping control system. The new Seal gets updated interiors, which include a unique four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a large centrally mounted floating touchscreen with rotation function. It gets a minimalist centre console, wireless charging pad and hidden AC vents. All variants get W-HUD head-up display and 13 airbags as standard.
New BYD Seal Performance
Talking about performance, then the battery packs are available in two options. One is of 61.44 kWh and the other is of 80.64 kWh unit. Their range is 510 km and 650 km respectively, where the base variant is equipped with a 228hp rear motor. At the same time, the mid variant generates 308hp of power. The top variant comes with an all-wheel drive setup and generates 523hp of power.
The new BYD sedan has a 1,200V SiC control system. The electric sedan uses a high-performance 23,000rpm motor. Its top speed is 240 km/h. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The sedan supports 800V technology, which supports superfast charging. It can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
New BYD Seal Safety Features
Talking about safety features, then the new BYD Seal has a lidar sensor module installed on the roof. Lidar is used in cars to improve ADAS function. With the help of lidar, the autonomous driving capability of the new BYD Seal has been improved. It now includes the L2+ level Depilot 300 system. It includes advanced features like high-speed and urban navigation on autopilot (NOA) and automated valet parking (AVP).
New BYD Seal Variants and Prices
Talking about variant and price, then there is also a 650 Long Range Edition, which is priced at 189,800 yuan (approximately Rs 21.6 lakh). This is followed by the 650 Intelligent Driving Edition, which is priced at 216,800 yuan (approximately Rs 24.7 lakh). The top variant is the 600 AWD Drive, which is priced at 239,800 yuan (approximately Rs 27.31 lakh).
In India, the BYD Seal EV is offered as a CBU unit, priced between Rs 41 lakh and Rs 53 lakh. The new BYD Seal EV 2025 model is expected to be launched in India in the coming months.
