Citroen Basalt: Citroen has launched its latest coupe-SUV in India. The company has introduced it at an initial starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This price will currently be applicable only to those customers who have booked before 31 October.
Looking at this price, it would not be wrong to say that this new car can give a tough competition to Tata Nexon. Let us tell you that the 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5-liter Revotorq turbocharged diesel engine variants of Nexon are available at an initial price of Rs 8 lakh.
Citroen has revealed only the starting price of Basalt, and the full price list is expected to be released in the coming days. The new SUV Basalt looks quite similar to the Citroen C3 Aircross, which also has a similar V-shaped pattern for LED DRLs and a split grille.
It gets LED projector headlights. Its front bumper has a silver finish with red color, which gives it a sporty touch.
The look of the car is beautiful
The Citroen Basalt is offered in five monotone color options, which include Polar White, Steel Gray, Platinum Gray, Cosmo Blue and Garnet Red.
It is also made available in two dual-tone options, which include Polar White with Platinum Gray roof, and Garnet Red with Perla Nera Black roof.
It has a coupe roofline in size and gets 16-inch dual-tone finish alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets wraparound halogen taillights with black-out bumpers.
The cabin of the Basalt also looks similar to the company’s SUV C3 Aircross, including a similar dashboard, dual digital display (10.25-inch touchscreen system and 7-inch digital driver display), and the design of the AC vents.
It includes automatic AC, wireless phone charger and adjustable under-thigh support (up to 87mm) for the rear seats.
However, the only thing that customers may miss is a sunroof. If it had a sunroof, it would have made this car even more beautiful.
Its safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a rear parking camera and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
