Citroen Basalt: Citroen India has launched its first coupe SUV in the Indian market. It has also become the cheapest coupe SUV in the country. However, the prices of Tata Curve Coupe SUV are yet to come. By the way, the prices of all the variants of Basalt have not been revealed yet. The company will soon end the suspense over these. However, in the meantime v3cars has revealed its expected prices. The company has also explained the reason behind these prices.

Citroen Basalt Specification

Talking about the specification, then the front end of the Basalt is quite similar to the Citroen C3 Aircross, with which it shares its underpinnings. It gets similarly styled DRLs, headlamp cluster, grille and the placement of the air intakes at the front. The design of the Basalt is evident from the side, as it gets a coupe roofline that slopes down from the B-pillar to a high deck lid with an inbuilt spoiler lip. It rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Citroen Basalt Features

Talking about its features, then its layout is similar to the C3 Aircross, in which elements like its dashboard design and 10.25-inch central touchscreen have been taken. Unlike the Aircross, it gets a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument display. It has adjustable under-thigh support for the rear seats. The Basalt also has a 15-watt wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and connected car technology.

Citroen Basalt Colour Option

Talking about the color option, it will get 5 single-tone options, which include Polar White, Steel Gray, Platinum Gray, Garnet Red and Cosmo Blue. White and red color roof will also be available in these. All its variants and their prices will be announced in the coming days. In India, it will compete with models like Tata Curve, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta.

Citroen Basalt Engine

Talking about its Engine, then it has two petrol engine options. The first is a naturally aspirated 1.2 liter petrol engine, which gives 81 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. It is available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Basalt also gets the option of a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which comes with 108 bhp and 195 Nm. It comes with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Citroen Basalt Price

Talking about price, then Citroen Basalt has been launched in 3 variants You, Plus and Max. Its starting price is Rs 7.99 lakh. It will have a total of 6 trims. Which includes 1.2-liter normal petrol MT, 1.2-liter turbo petrol MT and 1.2-liter turbo petrol AT. Its top variant will be priced at Rs 13.0 lakh. Delivery of Basalt will start in September.
