FASTag Explained : If you also use FASTag to pay toll tax, then this news is very important for you! After the new changes in the rules of FASTag, if your FASTag is blacklisted or inactive, then you will have to pay double the money at the toll! Yes, double! If your FASTag is also blacklisted or inactive, then do this work before reaching the toll plaza, otherwise your pocket may get a big blow!

What is this new rule?

New rules of FASTag have come into effect from February 17. According to these rules, people whose FASTag is blacklisted or inactive will have to pay double toll tax at the toll plaza! Earlier it was not like this, but now the rule has changed.

And now another new twist! If your FASTag is inactive or blacklisted and you recharge it just 1 hour before reaching the toll booth, then also the transaction will fail! The payment will be rejected, and you will have to pay double toll tax! Meaning, FASTag has to be checked and recharged before reaching the toll plaza!

Another important rule!

If you recharge FASTag 10 minutes before crossing the toll booth, you will get a refund of the penalty money. But if you recharge 15 minutes after crossing the toll booth, you will have to pay an extra charge. So do not delay in recharging!

And yes, if there has been any wrong deduction due to low balance in your account, you can complain within 15 days and get your money refunded. But to avoid all these hassles, take care of FASTag beforehand!

Definitely do this!

Whenever you leave home with your car, first of all check your FASTag. See if there is balance in it or not. If the balance is low, recharge immediately! And always remember that your FASTag should not be blacklisted or have low balance. Otherwise be ready to pay double the amount at the toll plaza!
