During its six-year stay in the Indian market, the Hero Destiny 125 has received updates from time to time, including special editions and variants. However, all of these were based on the first-generation model.
Now, Hero MotoCorp has finally given its offering a generation change and introduced the second-generation Destiny 125. We expect the prices of the new Destiny 125 to be announced in the coming weeks along with the pricing.
2024 Destiny 125 Available in Three Variants
The 2024 Destiny 125 is offered in two key trim levels- Cast Drum, which includes the VX variant, and Cast Disc, which is offered in the ZX and ZX+ variants.
The base variant is available in three color options, namely Eternal White, Regal Black, and Groovy Red. The more expensive ZX and ZX+ variants offer more color options with copper-toned chrome highlights on several parts of the scooter.
Destiny 125 Gets New H-shaped LED DRLs and Tail Lamps
The new Destiny gets the signature H-shaped LED DRLs and tail lamps, while the indicators are placed slightly lower on the front apron.
The fuel tank is located under the seat, with the filler located just above the tail lamp. The scooter has also grown in size, with the longest seat in the segment at 785 mm and the wheelbase has been increased by 57 mm to 1302 mm. Under-seat storage is at 19 liters, while the fuel tank capacity is 5 liters.
Features
The base variant includes projector LED headlamps, DRLs, front drum brakes, a Type-A charging port, an analog instrument cluster with a small LCD inset, and a boot lamp.
Interestingly, the base variant also includes a parking brake lock on the rear brake lever, which is not available in the more expensive variants.
Talking about the more expensive variants, the ZX and ZX+ include front disc brakes, digital speedometer with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, 5-step brightness control for the display, Hero’s i3s start/stop technology, backrest with X-Tech branding and auto-cancelling indicators.
Powertrain Remains Unchanged
For the powertrain, the 2024 model has the same 124.6cc air-cooled engine that produces 9 bhp of power and 10.4 Nm of torque. The company claims that the new Destiny 125 returns a mileage of 59 km.
The previous Destiny 125 was priced at ₹ 80,048 for the LX variant and ₹ 86,538 for the XTEC variant and the second generation model is expected to be slightly more expensive than its predecessor.
The 2024 Hero Destiny competes with models like the Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Suzuki Access 125 in the Indian market.
