India’s own two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp is preparing to convert its best-selling product Splendor into a fully electric one. Yes, you read it right! There are reports that the e-Splendor could hit the market around 2027, and some new battery-powered scooters and motorcycles will also be launched in the same segment. Although there has been no concrete official confirmation from the company yet, this news has excited millions of Splendor lovers.
The big revelation in a media report
Some reports claim that the company has already given the codename ‘AEDA’ to this model, and development work is going on at the company’s facility in Jaipur. If rumours are to be believed, once the electric Splendor goes into production, the company can produce around 2 lakh units annually. This figure shows how seriously Hero MotoCorp is taking this electric revolution and is all set to capitalize on the popularity of Splendor.

Electric dirt bikes also in line
Amid these reports, it has also emerged that Hero MotoCorp is in the process of adding an electric dirt bike to its fleet. The launch of this bike is expected by early or mid-next year. The company plans to produce over 10,000 units annually and hopes to export it to the international market as well. This move will not only help Hero strengthen its hold in the electric segment but also get recognition globally.
Hero already has many great options
Meanwhile, Hero already offers a wide range of electric scooters in the Indian market. The list includes the Optima CX, which is priced at ₹ 83,315, while the Atria and Photon can be purchased at ₹ 77,690 and ₹ 1.10 lakh (all ex-showroom). These scooters are also known for their performance and range, and now with the arrival of the electric Splendor and dirt bike, the company’s electric portfolio will become even stronger.
Hero is leading
Hero MotoCorp’s decision to introduce the Splendor in an electric avatar is a visionary move. Given the immense popularity of the Splendor and the growing demand for electric vehicles, this move could prove to be a game-changer for the company.
