According to rumours circulating in social media platforms for a long time, this time Honda may introduce Activa in an electric avatar (Honda Activa Ev). The company is all set to launch the Honda Activa based Activa Electric. Through this scooter, the company will strengthen its hold in the mass segment. The new electric scooter can be launched in mid-day after presenting it at Auto Expo next year. It will come as a practical scooter. In the next two to three weeks, the company is going to start its on-road trial.
A make in India project
According to media reports, Honda has installed separate setups for the production of the Activa EV in Karnataka and Gujarat, to keep its waiting period to a minimum. In India, this will be the company’s first electric scooter which will come under Make in India. It is estimated that Honda can launch its electric scooter at a price of one lakh rupees. It will be offered with different battery packs, similar to TVS Motor does in its electric scooter iQube.
