Honda Activa EV: A great news is coming out for Activa lovers. Because Honda Activa is going to launch a tremendous version in the month of December, and that version will come to the showroom in the early months of 2025.
Coded by K4BA, the Honda Activa EV will come to the market as a new rival to the Ather 450X, Ola S1 and TVS iQube. Very little information is available about this electric scooter at the moment.
What we know so far is that it will be a ‘mid-range’ e-scooter with a fixed battery. It is likely to be available in the mass market with an aggressive price point.
The company has filed several patents
The Honda Activa EV will be based on a dedicated platform (Platform E) that will be used for several upcoming electric models with multiple battery architectures and installations.
The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has already filed patents for EV technology including fixed batteries, motors, controllers, chargers, etc. These patents indicate that the new Honda electric scooter will get a fixed battery under the floorboard and a hub motor at the rear wheel.
Apart from the Activa EV, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) will introduce a new EV, which is likely to come with swappable batteries.
The two-wheeler manufacturer had revealed its plans to set up battery swapping stations at its 6,000 touchpoints across the country.
With an aim to meet the demand for its electric vehicles, Honda is setting up a new dedicated factory ‘E’ at its Narasapura facility in Karnataka. The plant will produce 1 million units by 2030.
Honda will manufacture battery and power control unit components for its upcoming electric vehicles.
In other new updates, HMSI has also inaugurated its new engine assembly line at the Global Resources factory located at Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana.
