Honda Activa vs TVS Jupiter: In the competitive landscape of the two-wheeler market, the sales performance of various models has exhibited a mixed trend over the past month, highlighting shifts in consumer preferences and market dynamics. Notably, Honda’s flagship scooter, the Activa, seems to be experiencing a decline in popularity, while the TVS Jupiter is emerging as a strong contender, gaining significant traction among consumers. The sales data for December 2024 underscores this trend, revealing a year-on-year increase in Jupiter’s sales figures.

In December 2024, Honda reported sales of 120,981 units of the Activa, which marks a notable decline from the 144,335 units sold in December 2023. This decline translates to a decrease of 23,354 units, resulting in a year-on-year decline of 16.18 percent. This downturn in sales raises questions about the factors contributing to the waning popularity of the Activa, which has long been a staple in the scooter segment.

On the other hand, the TVS Jupiter has demonstrated a robust performance, with sales reaching 88,668 units last month. This figure represents a significant increase compared to the 59,538 units sold in December 2023, marking an impressive growth of 29,130 units. This surge reflects a substantial year-on-year growth of 48.93 percent, indicating that the Jupiter is resonating well with consumers and capturing a larger share of the market.

According to Honda’s official website, the price range for the Activa 110 is between Rs 78,684 and Rs 84,685, while the 125 cc variant is priced from Rs 82,257 to Rs 91,430, with all figures representing ex-showroom prices in Delhi. This pricing strategy may be a factor in the declining sales, as consumers increasingly seek value for money in a competitive market.

TVS Jupiter price range

In contrast, the TVS Jupiter offers a more attractive price point, with the starting price for the 110 cc variant set at Rs 74,691. The 125 cc model is priced between Rs 79,540 and Rs 90,721, also reflecting ex-showroom pricing.
