Honda has been testing its next-generation Amaze on Indian roads for quite some time now. The company is gearing up for the launch of the new Amaze in the coming months, with deliveries expected to begin from January 2025.

The overall design of the new Amaze is similar to the current-generation model, which has boxy styling. However, it will include some contemporary design elements to make it feel more premium.

The spy shots that have surfaced so far have given a glimpse of the upcoming compact sedan.

The test mule has been spotted with smoky tail lamps, a shark fin antenna, three fixed headrests for rear passengers, a reverse parking camera, and many other features similar to the Honda City.

The new Honda Amaze is expected to get significant updates. Some of the notable features could include a 360-degree camera, dual screen setup, which includes a touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster, level-2 ADAS, power-adjustable driver’s seat, sunroof, and ventilated front seats.

The new Honda Amaze will be based on the same platform that underpins the City and Elevate. However, the wheelbase might be shorter to keep the SUV under 4 meters in length.

The current-generation Amaze has a wheelbase of 2,470 mm as against 2,600 mm on the Honda City.

The powertrain for the new Amaze is expected to remain unchanged. The Amaze will continue to draw its power from a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 89 hp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque.

This engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. Given the strong sales of the CNG models, the company might introduce a CNG variant later.

Currently priced between ₹7.20 lakh and ₹9.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Honda Amaze accounts for nearly 25% of the company’s total sales. The upcoming model will compete with the all-new Dzire and Hyundai Aura in the Indian market.

The Honda Amaze is a popular compact sedan, and the company is trying to strengthen its position in the market with its new avatar.

With new features and updates, the Honda Amaze can become an attractive option for those looking for an affordable and reliable car.
